Pelayaran Perdana Petikemas di Pelabuhan Tunontaka Nunukan

Pada tanggal 16 April 2010 pelabuhan Nunukan akhirnya disandari kapal peti kemas milik PT. SPIL dengan nama kapal MV. Sinar Salju, Grt 5.042, Loa 110 meter, jumlah bongkaran peti kemas ukuran 20 feet full pada pelayaran perdana ini adalah sebanyak 14 (empat belas) box/teu's. Kehadiran kapal peti kemas  di pelabuhan Tunon Taka Nunukan ini disambut dengan antusias  oleh masyarakat dan para pelaku usaha di kota Nunukan, karena barang yang dikirim melalui peti kemas keamanannya terjamin, tepat waktu dan dengan biaya yang terjangkau, kehadiran peti kemas ini juga menghasilkan apresiasi dan dukungan dari berbagai pihak diantaranya pemerintah Kab. Nunukan, regulator di pelabuhan (pihak Adpel) dan instansi terkait lainnya dalam daerah kerja pelabuhan.
